María Teresa Mendoza Alva (b. 1999) is a Mexican artist best known for her fine arts and conceptual portraits. Born in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, she is about to earn her BFA from Texas A&M International University in May. Mendoza's recent work consists of over-painted photographs, where she performed with acrylic paint with her body over her self-dance portraits and with palette knives. She developed an early interest in portraiture, particularly the work of photo-realistic painters Marco Grassi and Fabiano Millani, photography inspiration from abstract expressionism, conceptual art, performance art, figurative art, and contemporary art. For example, her digital self-portrait, Stillness (2021), mimics the photo-realistic technique, where she achieves to recreate a self-picture. Mendoza's works have been exhibited at Texas A&M International University in the Zaffirini Success Center and Centro Cultural of Nuevo Laredo.
